I redesigned FastMoto Fantasy… But at a cost

We just lost a heap of users… on purpose.

At FastMoto Fantasy, we made the call to rebuild everything from the ground up — knowing it would cost us.

All new FastMoto Fantasy website rebuilt from the ground up

The original platform?

Tens of thousands of dollars.
It worked. People enjoyed it.
But for me personally, it wasn’t right.

Trying to build a niche product like motocross fantasy with developers who didn’t live and breathe the sport created constant friction. Features got watered down. UX felt clunky. The vision kept getting compromised. And I wasn’t willing to settle for “good enough.”

So I scrapped it.
Started again.

Rebuilt the entire platform to match the standard it should have been from day one — better UX, stronger data, smoother flow, and the features that actually matter. A foundation that can scale!

But here’s the trade-off…

We couldn’t migrate users across. New system = new accounts.

Even though we synced points and upgraded loyal members, the extra step was enough to lose people.

And yeah — that stings.

But building something great isn’t about protecting what’s comfortable. It’s about backing your vision, even when it costs you.

Because I’d rather build the best fantasy platform in motocross and supercross… than hold onto a bigger user number on a platform I didn’t believe in.

And it’s still early days.

Now we’ve got the foundation right — and that’s where everything changes.
